Abisko National Park the areas this far north are rightfully considered to be the last wilderness of Europe – and the scenery is truly breathtaking. A combination of mountains, valleys and a rugged, peaceful landscape more than 200 km north of the arctic circle gives Abisko a very unique environment that attracts over 40.000 people to travel here every year.

Angso is a Swedish national park. It is renowned for its wonderful nature and a pleasing agricultural landscape which was not destroyed by technical civilization. The park can only be reached by water.

Hardangervidda National Park, at 3,422 square kilometers, is Norway’s largest national park. It spans from Numedal and Uvdal in the east and Røvelseggi and Ullensvang in the west across the Hardanger mountain plateau. 

Jotunheimen National Park is in southern Norway. The park’s trail-crossed peaks include Galdhøpiggen and Glittertind, in the north. There is also Store Skagastølstind, in the west, part of the Hurrungane range. Glaciers like the Bøverbrean dot the region. The Besseggen ridge offers views of 2 lakes: green Gjendevatnet to the south and Bessvatnet to the north. The park is home to reindeer, elk, mink and wolverines.

Oulanka National Park is a national park in the Northern Ostrobothnia and Lapland regions of Finland, covering 270 square kilometres. The park was established in 1956 and was expanded in 1982 and 1989.

Rondane National Park is the oldest national park in Norway, established on 21 December 1962. The park contains ten peaks above 2,000 metres, with the highest being Rondeslottet at an altitude of 2,178 m.

Sarek National Park is a national park in Jokkmokk Municipality, Lapland in the north of Sweden. Established in 1909–1910, the park is one of the oldest national parks in Europe.

Sonfjallet, also spelled Sånfjället, is a national park situated in Härjedalen, in central Sweden. It was established in 1909, making it one of Europe’s oldest national parks. Following a land extension in 1989, it now covers 103 km². Address: Härjedalen V, Sonfjället, Sweden.

 

Thy National Park is a National Park area in Thy, Denmark, opened to the public on 22 August 2008. It is located in Northwest Jutland, along the coast from Hanstholm to Agger Tange and it spans 55 km north to south and 5–12 km east to west.
